LO4: Evaluation

I did make a front page a continent page also a double page spred on my found cover I used a simple it is thin and easy to read which is typical to the genre with other magazine using simple font styles I use a color scheme of grey and orange this connotes the grey a mechanical theme with grey being the color of metals used in cars and orange because it is bright and is a common color for high end cars. The cover line “160mph” I used this because it makes people look and be impressed my main cover image is going to be a transition of a car on the road and the line of the bottom of the road will changes into a side angle of the car the first shot will be a medium wide shot of the car the second shot will be the same but from the side. For the mast head I used just a white with a black border color which is also typical for the genre with the font being simple but with a line in the middle almost like it has been run over, the banners will be in a box with orange borders and a grey background with white text so it is clear to the reader and stands out it also fits with the colour scheme with the orange and grey it will stand out because orange is a very bright colour I put a banner at the top and bottom of the magazine to make sure the reader knows some of the key things inside like the articles  

 

Contents page  

In the contents page I did feature articles about electric cars, off-roading and a debate about electric v petrol this is because they are very interesting topics for the reader with rising prices of petrol and oil running out the reader will want to know what's the future for motor verticals and the benefits and drawbacks article about off-roading will be interesting for the reader because it is not regally done with cars and some people might have interest in doing it but don’t know how to do it safely the other article will be about just one electric car to review it and focus on the advantages and disadvantages. I put two pictures on my content pages a front angle of a car and a back angle of a car the image will be dark with mainly the headlight and taillights visible because it makes the car look cool and more sinister  

 

Double page spread  

For the double page spread I did a feature about off roading and what is needed and how to do it safely for the image on the double page spred will be a big picture of a car going down a muddy hill in the woods to portray off-reading and the second smaller image in a banner will be a high angle on a dirt trail in the forest with articles about comfort speed handling and general off-road I am staying with the same orange grey colure scheme to make it match the other pages

my evaluation for the front cover i thought the pictures are fitting for a mazine about cars and the house-style and themes of the orange and black i thought the red text on the gray background made it hard to see so if i did it again i would do that i would also make take a more large front cover picture i started with the masthead and banners i used the text butten to add writing to the page and boxes to write in 

contents page 

i liked the pictures on the contents page but i could of made a bit more interesting i liked the house style the fonts and colors worked well providing a constant theme which fits my theme i used the masthead on the contents page so the magazine is identifiable from different pages i used to typing tool to create the writing on this page and resized the pictures 

double page spread 

I liked the way the writing was phrased on this page it matched other car magazines with the factual information the pictures could have been layed out better my dobble page spread features pictures of cars with coloration information and this fitted the brief i think i fitted the target audience i used a line to split the page into two sides 

LO4: Client and focus group feedback

 

I think the feedback shows that I need to add to the magazine and edit sections like the red writing on the front cover and add more banners 

lo4 version controls + evidence of editing

in the first version I had a big cover image and a smaller image below with a cut in the bottom image to make the magazine more interesting and eye catching with a picture of the 3 cars together in the second version I changed the top image to one with two of the same car but it did not work because in the magazine there is a review of two different cars against so needed the other car in the fount cover so in the next version I changed it to more images but thought it looked to complex and buisy for a fount cover and there is a review of the porshe which is not on the front covers so I added it into the next version where I also put black borders around the images to make them stand out

I added the masthead with the font I had chosen 

I changed the color scheam from blue to orange to fit my style and original color scheam 

I put banners with a box with an orange background and grey inside to fit with my color scheam using the shape tool

first I added a picture to fill out the content page to give intsight to the content of the magizine 

added more pictures overlapping to show different angles of cars 

added masthead and text for context page in orange to match the theme of the magizine using the typing tool 

this is the finished contents page made the pictures not overlap anymore so it looks less bunched up and cleaner with 2 different angles of the same car and then another angle of pictures from the front cover 

I started with a orange background becouse it was my house color and added images 

I changed the background from orange because it did not look good made the background white with faded images in the background 

then I added the rest of the images 

adding the body article on the left becouse the picture made the best place to put this side of the article below the cars using the text tool and so it fitted with my audience and theam 

then I added the second part of the body copy on top of the faded image so the text was clear and visible  

LO3: Contact sheet and evaluation

 

I used the last photos on the first contact sheet because they are very clean images with little background to distract from the cars 

I did not use the first 7 because they where to close and not clear enough what was going on in the photo 

I used pictures from more far away so it looks more like other car magazines which have little amounts of close ups because there is lots more background in other photos of car in similar magazine 

I used the shot of of all 3 cars to show all of the cars together and shots of the car going down hill to show off road. the last ones are to close of the wheels

LO4: Review of assets

 

this photo I chose because it shows a good angle of the car and has a plane background to focus on the car 

this is a good photo because it shows a car performing a difficult task that shows off the ability of the car 

I chose this because it shows 2 identical cars next to each other offroading 

i chose thease photos because they show the cars clearly with them driving and stationary to display capability and looks with them doing activity such as off-roading 

I chose this for the double page spred because it shows a car going down a steep hill which my target audience would enjoy because they want to see the capibitys of the car
